4.   Portfolios must consist of between eight and ten images. Each entrant may submit no more than one portfolio in each of the portfolio categories, except for the Photo Essay Award where two portfolios can be submitted.
5.   Up to five images may be entered into each Single Image category. An image entered in a Single Image category cannot be entered in a different Single Image category. (This image may, however, form part of one or more portfolios.)
6.   Entrants in the Young Photographer of the Year category must be under 25 years of age on 19th May 2007. Entrants must be 18 years of age or over on 19th May 2007.
7.   The organiser reserves the right to combine categories or withhold the prize if the standards of entry are not sufficiently high or if numbers of entries for a particular category or categories are deemed by the judges or organisers to be too few.
8.   Images must be submitted electronically, using the Picture Editors' Awards website at http://www.pictureawards.net. No prints, transparencies, computer disks, or other media will be accepted.
9.   Electronic entries must be received by the Award's web host no later than midnight on Sunday 27th May 2007 irrespective of the time of sending. Proof of sending will not be deemed proof of receipt.
10.   Any entry which is incomplete, illegible, late or otherwise does not comply with the rules may be deemed invalid in the sole discretion of the judges or organisers.
11.   Images may be of digital or photographic film origin. No image may be combined with any other, or manipulated or enhanced in any way so as to alter the content or appearance of the original.
12.   Each entrant must have properly completed the on-line registration form.
13.   By submitting images, entrants signify that they hold copyright, or have sought and obtained the permission of the copyright owner to accept these Rules and Conditions.
14.   All entries may be displayed or reproduced without payment to the holder of the copyright in connection with publicising and promoting The Picture Editors' Awards.
15.   Nominations for Awards will be announced no later than 10th June 2007, and nominees will be advised by email.
16.   Winners of the Awards will be announced at the Awards ceremony on 20th June 2007 when trophies will be presented.
